Amazon Leo installer — French Riviera (06 & 83)

Amazon Leo (formerly Project Kuiper) is Amazon's low Earth orbit internet constellation. We are an independent satellite installer covering Alpes-Maritimes and Var: we are preparing Leo Nano, Leo Pro and Leo Ultra installations now, so our clients are mounted and connected as soon as the service opens in France.

Amazon Leo (formerly Project Kuiper) is not yet available to residential customers in France. Consumer launch is expected in late 2026 / early 2027. Need a connection right now? Starlink is available and installed within 5 to 10 days.

Where does Amazon Leo stand in France?

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit internet constellation, renamed in November 2025 (it was previously called Project Kuiper). On the regulatory side, the French file has cleared its hurdles: Arcep authorisation, then confirmation by the Conseil d'État in July 2026. Early access for business customers has already launched, but the consumer offer in France is not open yet — it is expected in late 2026 / early 2027. We are preparing installations now so our clients are mounted and connected within the first weeks of launch.

November 2025

Project Kuiper becomes Amazon Leo

Amazon renames its low Earth orbit constellation and brings the consumer and business offers together under the Leo brand.

July 2026

Regulatory green light in France

Arcep authorisation confirmed and upheld by the Conseil d'État: the legal framework for operating in France is in place.

Ongoing

Business early access

The first enterprise connections are live. This is the phase we track to calibrate our mounts and installation procedures.

Late 2026 / early 2027

Expected consumer launch

Residential availability expected in France. Pre-qualified properties will be installed first.

Page updated August 2026. Satellite Internet 06 is an independent installer, not affiliated with Amazon: we handle the physical installation and configuration, the subscription is taken out separately with the operator.

Why us

An experienced satellite installer, not a brand reseller

Multi-constellation installer

Starlink today, Amazon Leo tomorrow: we advise on the right constellation for your property, with no commercial bias.

Free technical visit

Obstruction test, mounting point and cable route surveyed before any commitment. Your quote follows within 72h.

3-year mount warranty

Reinforced mounts, A4 marine-grade stainless steel near the coast, weatherproofing done properly: the mount is guaranteed for 3 years.

Wi-Fi optimisation included

A fast dish is useless if the Wi-Fi stops at the living room. We size the indoor network too.

Hardware

Leo Nano, Leo Pro, Leo Ultra: which dish for your property?

Three terminals have been announced. Speed is not the only criterion: dish size drives wind load, and therefore the type of mount required — a decisive point on the Riviera coastline.

Comparison of the three Amazon Leo dishes: Nano 7 × 7 in up to 100 Mbps, Pro 11 × 11 in up to 400 Mbps, Ultra 20 × 30 in up to 1 Gbps
Amazon

Leo Nano

up to 100 Mbps

Second home, studio, backup line

18 × 18 cm (7 × 7 in)1 kg (2.2 lbs)

The most compact of the range. Enough for occasional remote work, streaming and a household with standard usage.

Installation note: Small footprint: it fits neatly on a façade, a gable end or a terrace railing with minimal visual impact.

Leo Pro

up to 400 Mbps

Family villa, full-time remote work

28 × 28 cm (11 × 11 in)2.4 kg (5.3 lbs)

The closest thing to a fibre connection for a whole household: several 4K streams at once, video calls, cloud and home automation.

Installation note: Larger surface and more wind load: it needs a reinforced mount and a properly studied anchor point, especially near the sea.

Leo Ultra

up to 1 Gbps

Business, multi-site, heavy bandwidth

51 × 76 cm (20 × 30 in)19.5 kg (43 lbs)

The top-of-range terminal, aimed at professionals: up to 400 Mbps upload, for sites that must carry dozens of simultaneous users.

Installation note: 19.5 kg on a 51 × 76 cm panel: a roof load assessment, heavy-duty mounting and a dedicated cable route are essential. This is a different job entirely from a compact dish.

Why size matters more than speed

Between the Nano (18 × 18 cm, 1 kg) and the Ultra (51 × 76 cm, 19.5 kg) there is a twenty-fold weight difference. On a Riviera roof exposed to sea wind, those are not the same mount and not the same fixings — and the Ultra requires a genuine load assessment before installation.

That is exactly what we verify during the technical visit, before recommending one model over another.

How it works

A professional 4-step process

The same sequence we run on hundreds of Starlink installations across the 06 and the 83, adapted to the Amazon Leo launch calendar. The first two steps can happen right now, with no commitment.

01Eligibility pre-study

Address, terrain, obstructions (trees, buildings, cliff face) and sky view: we confirm up front that the site will work with a low orbit constellation.

02Free technical visit

We survey the mounting point, the cable route and the weak Wi-Fi zones. Nothing is charged at this stage.

03Installation at launch

As soon as Amazon Leo goes live in your commune, we install: reinforced mount, weatherproof cabling, clean finishing.

04Activation, Wi-Fi & handover

Commissioning, indoor network optimisation (mesh or pro access points) and a walkthrough of the app.

Reinforced satellite dish mount

One of our satellite installations in the 06. Our mounts and fixing methods are proven on the coast — sea wind, pitched roofs, old tiles and technical terraces — and they will be the basis for Amazon Leo installations.

Torn between Starlink and Amazon Leo?

Starlink is available in France today, with 150 to 300 Mbps and 40 to 60 ms latency measured on our installations across the 06. Amazon Leo is not open to residential customers yet, so comparing the two in the field only becomes meaningful at launch. Our usual advice: if the need is immediate, we install Starlink; if you can wait, we pre-qualify your site for both.

Does the signal stop at the living room?

A satellite dish delivers its bandwidth to the router, not to the far end of the garden. Stone walls, a villa over three floors, a pool house or an outbuilding: indoor coverage needs a real network — Ubiquiti UniFi or TP-Link Omada access points, structured Cat6a RJ45 cabling, VLANs and a separate guest network.

FAQ

Amazon Leo: frequently asked questions

Is Amazon Leo available in France yet?

Not for residential customers. Arcep authorisation was upheld by the Conseil d'État in July 2026 and business early access has launched, but the consumer roll-out in France is expected in late 2026 / early 2027. If you need internet right now, Starlink is live and we install it every week across the 06 and the 83.

What is the difference between Amazon Leo and Project Kuiper?

They are the same service. Project Kuiper was the original name of Amazon's internet constellation; it was renamed Amazon Leo in November 2025. Anything written before that date refers to exactly the same offer.

Which Amazon Leo dish should I choose?

Three terminals have been announced: Leo Nano (up to 100 Mbps) for a backup line or a second home, Leo Pro (up to 400 Mbps) for a family villa and full-time remote work, and Leo Ultra (up to 1 Gbps) for businesses and heavily used sites. The choice depends on the number of simultaneous users and on mounting constraints — the larger models need a reinforced mount.

Why prepare the installation before the service opens?

Because the slow part is the survey, not the installation: obstruction test, mounting point, cable route, and co-ownership approval where it applies. A pre-qualified file lets us install within days of the commercial launch, instead of waiting weeks in the queue.

Do you work with English-speaking clients?

Yes — a large share of our clients are expats and second-home owners. Site visits, quotes and handover are all available in English, and we are used to dealing with overseas owners remotely: photos, video calls and written reports when you are not in France.

Should I choose Starlink or Amazon Leo?

Today the question is largely academic: only Starlink is commercially available in France. Once Amazon Leo opens we will compare real-world speed, latency, pricing and terms on your specific site. We are an independent installer with no exclusivity: our interest is in the installation working, not in selling one brand over another.
